What are the expected costs for the new Children’s Building, parking and renovation of vacated space?

The development budget for the new building and 260-space parking lot has been calculated to be no more than $13.7 M. At this time we do not have a professional estimate for the renovation cost of the vacated space that would follow upon completion of the new building. We will share that information in the near future but believe it to be minimal at this time.

What is the summary of our finances and loans for our current facilities?

We have invested over $26.5 M with relocation and expansion of the Worship Center (WC) and Family Life Center (FLC). We had original loans of $9.5 M for the WC and $4.6 M for the FLC. Based on our current level of giving and budget, the FLC will be paid in full in later this year 2015, and the WC loan will be only $1.5 M or less by the time the Children’s Building is completed in early Summer 2017.

What if the total cost of the new building is not covered by commitments?

This will be a church decision. We will evaluate methods of reducing expansion costs, phasing the project and securing a reasonable loan as we have done in the past two expansions. We will, as always, balance ministry and facilities expenditures within our budget capabilities and continued church growth. Since relocation in 2003, our annual budget has more than doubled from $2.5 M to $5.2 M this year.

Why do we really need the new Children’s Building and renovations and will they accommodate future growth?

Due to overwhelming growth of families, children and youth in the last several years, our facilities are beyond capacity in the Preschool and Children’s ministries. The new building has been planned to accommodate future growth of 3% to 5% a year for the next several years.

Will the new Children’s Building have other uses beyond Preschool and Children Sunday School and Worship Time?

Sundays are certainly our high volume usage times with Children’s Worship, Sunday School and Awana. There is Weekday School, Mother’s Day Out, The Junction, as well as any event needing childcare. The building would also be used as needed for church events or special events.

What will happen to the current Preschool and Children’s areas?

After the new building is completed, the Children’s space will be renovated for the Youth Ministry.  Preschool space will be renovated for the Special Needs, Adult Education and Senior Adult (Legacy) Ministries.

Who will be asked to give?

Every church member/family and regular attendee will be asked to seek what God will have them to give over the next three years.

When can construction begin and how long will it take to complete?

Construction will begin in the Spring of 2016 and will hopefully be complete at the beginning of 2018.
