THREE IMPORTANT Ps: Luke 12:11-12: “And when they bring you before the synagogues and the rulers and authorities, do not become anxious about how you should defend yourself or what you should say, for the Holy Spirit will teach you in that very hour what you ought to say.” We all have times in our lives when we must speak personally, privately and publicly to address issues or make a presentation or speech. I have had to do this hundreds of times in my life and it comes up in all walks of life at home, work, family or community. So, just what are the three Ps? They are Prayer, Preparation and Presentation. Start first with Prayer as we see in our Scripture this week. Claim these two verses and pray them to the Father who wants to hear and honor them in our lives. God loves for us to pray His Word back to Him. Over the years, I always claim this Scripture first as I prepare for speaking, preaching, job interviews, interpersonal conflicts, staff or employee/employer issues or family situations. My son-in-law recently claimed these verses in a job interview and God clearly honored it.
The second P is Preparation which means that we have prayed in advance and are now trusting God to help us to prepare for the presentation. He will guide you to rehearse and carefully think through the upcoming event. God will do His part and we must also do our part. The third P is Presentation which comes in its proper order by doing the first two. When we do the first two, anxiety is always greatly reduced because we are ready and have the promise of the Holy Spirit to give us the words to use. In reality, we have prayed and prepared in advance so that the time of presentation is an extension of the first two. I have heard that there is a fourth P and it is Praise. Don’t forget this one to thank the Lord for being faithful. Things that don’t begin with prayer seldom end in praise. If you have a difficult meeting or confrontation or important presentation to make, claim these two verses and know that God is faithful to those who call upon Him. Try it and you will be blessed to have His presence walk with you. I promise you, God is better than Google!
