THERE IS ONLY ONE WAY

By Dean Gage

THERE IS ONLY ONE WAY:  John 14:6 Jesus said to him, “I am the way, and the truth and the life.  No one comes to the Father except through me.”   We live in a world today where people look for alternative ways of living, of relationships, and of spiritual eternity.  We even hear of some so-called spiritual leaders say they believe there is more than one way to God.  Wow, are they in for a big surprise and those who follow them.  There are many false religions but there is only one way to God the Father.  There is only one Savior who lives and made the statement in our Scripture this week.  As the leader of your family, you must make certain that you live out and teach this truth that Jesus is the one and only way to the living God and that He is alive today.

A driver stopped to ask the way to a certain destination.  When he was told the way, he asked with doubt, “Is that the best way to get there?”  The answer came back, “That is the only way and there is no other.”  There is only one way to salvation and that is Jesus Christ who stated this truth clearly and emphatically in our Scripture this week.  Peter declared in Acts 4:12: “There is no other name under heaven given among men by which we must be saved.”  When your children reach middle school, high school and college-age, they will be hit with all kinds of false alternates and so-called new ideas and religious movements.  It is your responsibility to teach them the truth in such a way that they will not be led astray.  Yes, it is a narrow way, but it is the only way and it is God’s only way.  He sent his only Son and no other.  No other is needed or could have done what He did for us.  “Jesus Chris is the same yesterday, today and forever.”
