Leading by Example in Your Home

By Dean Gage

You may be asking why we have spent so much time on leading by example? It is simply because it is the most powerful and important form of leadership and so crucial to a man and his family leadership. The International Bulletin of Ministry Research found that 85% of all people who accept Christ do so between the ages of 5 and 15 years and that 10% do so between the ages of 15 and 30 years. Above age 30, the percentage drops to only 4%. So the years that your children are in your home are the most important and do not neglect the time you have to reach and impact them for Christ.

Stu Weber in his book Tender Warrior, states, “When the father is an active Christian, there is a 75% likelihood that the children will also become active Christians. If only the mother is an active believer, this likelihood drops to only 15%. “A child is not likely to find a Father in God, unless he finds something of God in his own father.” Men, you must never take lightly the impact of your Christian walk and example to your children and grandchildren. Your wife is a critical partner, but a man must never abdicate his role and responsibility as the spiritual leader of the home. A man is responsible and will be held accountable to God for how he leads them.
