John 3:16 “For God so loved the world, that He gave his only Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have eternal life.” This Christmas, your family and those around you will observe what Christmas means to you by what you say and do. They will see how you celebrate Christmas and what it means to you. We will read the Biblical account of the birth of Jesus from Luke 2, as we should do each Christmas. But this passage is just the beginning of Christmas and what it means. We need to remember that the way of the cross began with the birth of Christ in a manger. Christmas had a beginning but it has no ending even with His death on the cross. His Father raised Him from the dead which is the gift He provides to each one who believes in Him. Christmas is an eternal gift of God for those who will accept it.
This Christmas, we should share the whole story from the birth to the death on a cross to the resurrection. Christmas starts the story of God’s love gift to each of us and the cross consummates the love of Jesus for each of us. Without the virgin birth, the sinless life, the sacrificial death of Jesus on the cross and His resurrection by God the Father, there would be no Christmas. As you open gifts this Christmas, think of the free gift God has given us. It is eternal life with Him which no one can take away. Be bold and share all of Christmas. His birth was just the start of the greatest gift ever given to us. MERRY CHRISTMAS!!!
