LEADERS HANG UP ON TEMPTATION

By Dean Gage

Ephesians 4:27 “And do not give the devil an opportunity.”  My emails have proliferated beyond reason in the past year or two but I know where the delete button is located.  However, the aggravation of having to wade through them and delete is a real challenge.  Every time I check out of a store and use my credit card, I am asked if I want an email receipt?  If you say, “yes,” you have just been added to their email list.  I also get a lot of Spam from sites and people that I would never exchange emails.  Men go to these sites periodically to see what they are.  You don’t need to see what they are and should just delete them to avoid temptation.  Many of them are graphic pornography.  Hang up and delete.  It’s bait to hook you and it is easier to stay out than to get out.  “Don’t give the devil an opportunity.”

Phone calls from unknowns and computer driven telemarketers and money solicitors used to drive me crazy.  I was averaging a call a day by car maintenance and credit card scams until I found a new Ap for my AT&T cell phone.  It is called “Call Protect.”  It picks up telemarketers and scams and allows you to block them from calling again.  I am rarely bothered now and just add any new ones to my list of blocked numbers.  These may not be great temptations, but they produce a bad attitude and frustration that I don’t need in my life.  If they are legitimate, they will leave a message and you can make the call back decision.  So, my new Ap and my response allow me to just hang up.  When the enemy comes calling, just hang up!
