GOD’S WORD NEVER CHANGES

By Dean Gage

GOD’S WORD NEVER CHANGES:  Isaiah 40:8: “The grass withers, the flower fades, but the Word of our God stands forever.”   An understatement would be that we live in a rapidly changing culture and no Christian would argue that it’s for the better.  If there is one thing certain about our culture and the future, it is that it will continue to change rapidly.  Yes, technology has changed the world and those of us living today have seen more technological advances and change than all of the combined years of history preceding our generation.  This is not my concern and I have no interest in going back to the horse and buggy days and Texas heat without air-conditioning.  I would also miss my computer, cell phone, television and fast-food restaurants.  My concern is the anti-Christian culture which is being imposed on us at a mind-boggling pace with no let-up in sight.

Personally, I do not believe that we are going to change our culture which brings us to our Scripture this week.  It brings us to our leadership responsibilities in the home and work.  We must live for Christ and build our lives on God’s Word without compromise or change.  Our culture has for years and is now accelerating its attack on the Bible.  Many people are saying that we need to change our view, interpretation and application of God’s Word to meet our culture today.  Remember and Do Not Forget this: “God is not going to rewrite the Bible for our generation or any other.  His Word is eternal and remains the same forever and always!”  Several times in Scripture there is a constant and strict warning that we are not to add to or take away from God’s Word.  It is the perfect and inerrant Word of God which cannot and does not need to change.  It’s man that needs to change.  The bottom line is that our responsibility to spiritually lead our family in this culture is more critical than ever.  If you don’t teach them TRUTH, there are many who are eager to teach them error.
