DEACON APPROVAL OF RECOMMENDATIONS: The Building Coordinating Committee, the Construction Oversight Committee and the Church Finance Committee unanimously presented Recommendations to the Deacons on Monday night, August 31, to move forward with Financial and Construction Plans for the Children’s Building. These Recommendations were approved by the Deacons and recommended to the church for approval. These Recommendations approved Extraco Banks as the lending institution and to use an integrated design and build process staying within the $13.7 M total maximum cost. The church family will be asked to approve these Recommendations at the Business Meeting on Wednesday, September 16 so that we can now move toward starting construction in 2016. 

CHURCH-WIDE BRIEFING/LISTENING SESSION: For church members who may still have questions or need more information about the new Children’s Building, there will be a Church-wide Briefing/Listening Session at 6:30 p.m. on Monday, September 14, in the Worship Center by the Building Coordinating Committee and the Church Finance Committee. This will be opportunity for a Q and A and discussion time before the Church Vote on September 16. 

CHURCH VOTE AT BUSINESS MEETING: Following the Briefing/Listening Session, the church family will be asked to approve, without discussion, the Recommendations at the Church Business Meeting on Wednesday evening, September 16. Following church approval, it is expected to take at least six months to finalize construction documents, obtain permits and start construction. This means that construction is projected to start in late Spring or early Summer 2016 with a 14 month completion time.
