GROUNDBREAKING: Groundbreaking on Sunday, April 24 for the new Preschool and Children’s Building was a historic event in the life and future of our church. Approximately 2,000 adults and children were present to help us break ground for our next ministry expansion. The last part of the Groundbreaking provided an opportunity for the children to get a small shovel and hard hat and dig in the sand. The hard hat and shovel and probably a little sand went home with the children as a reminder of what God is doing at Central. It was truly a family event that will be remembered for years to come.

MINISTRY TO THE BRAZOS VALLEY: The whole purpose of this new building is to meet our critical space needs to minister to the children and families in the Brazos Valley. When completed, there will not be another children’s building like it in the entire Brazos Valley. Children will bring their parents to find and learn about Jesus. The children theme throughout, the classrooms, the large children’s assembly areas, the indoor and outdoor playgrounds, the security and media and the family support areas will all give testimony of our commitment to REACH families’ hearts for Christ.

CONSTRUCTION UPDATE: Due to the engineering revisions for the sanitary sewer connection, we have about a two week delay. We now look to start actual construction in June with a twelve month construction schedule (completion in June 2017). Pray that we will not have any additional delays and can start next month.

REACH UPDATE: Giving for the first ten months has now gone above $2.3 M on our way to the total project cost of $13.7 M. This means that we have $11.4 M to go in the next several years as God provides from pledges, gifts and the church budget. Our goal remains to pay off the entire cost within the next seven years as God provides.
